Just checked MotorsportsReg.com and found Scott Adare has posted April 2 for a track day.

Looks like things are opening up again.

I heard the school got moved to the 3rd and 4th, but that's second hand, not directly from the BMW club. I definitely want to make school if I can. I keep checking the web sites. Any info anyone has on that would be appreciated.

Hi everyone,

The Inland Empire Chapter of BMW CCA club is considering a high performance driving school on April 3rd and 4th (Easter weekend). If you can be available to volunteer one or both days, please let me know by 4pm on Wednesday, March 3rd. The board will be meeting the evening of March 3rd to make the decision regarding the school. Note that the dates for our April school have been changed from April 17th and 18th due to schedule conflicts. More to following the meeting on March 3rd. Thanks to everyone for their past support of our driving schools and the NWMS sports car races in July.

I am currently planning on attending this school as a -student-. If part of that involves helping work, please count me in.

I just need to get my car inspected and sign up for the event.

I'll see you all at the school and FATT. If you can come check out ORP it is a blast of a track! I have had a lot of fun there. I'll be working in the right seat at the school.
Are any of you ging for a race lic.?

I'm going as a first timer, and seeing if it's something I like enough to do the lapping days occasionally. Not looking to get a racing license.

A license would be cool, but I don't know I need it. Does this school provide one? **

No, that's something that takes far more time, money and effort.

Getting signed off as a safe driver at a BMW CCA driving school is all you need to get a Novice license for competitive road racing with ICSCC.

$50 buys you a road racing license for ChumpCar or 24 Hours of LeMons with no training.

Hurr, but doesn't going from a novice license to a full license require the aforementioned moneys time and effort? Lol I really don't know all that much about it either tbh.

Race entry fees and traveling to events costs money and takes time. Upgrading from a novice to the next level doesn't cost any extra. In fact, when you upgrade, they give you a free upgrade race to congratulate you for completing the novice program (3 novice races minimum) and if you're renting a car, they often give you free rental for your free race.

If you think your racing is a money pit just come join us road racing and you will find a hole new level. I like road racing a ton and I'm glad I have the chance to drive the cars that I have for as little money as I put out but it dose take time and a hole lot of want maybe even some skills.

Any way its a ton of fun to blast around on FATT days even if you do not go racing.

What kind of road racing?
Where?
Any information?

And when you said "hole" did you mean the kind of hole you keep pouring money into? Shocked

To clear what Bryan mentioned above about a ICSCC Conference license read the requirements on this website.

http://icscc.com/novice.php

If you plan on moving on to race in ICSCC also known as Conference in the next year. Then make sure Scott puts you with an instructor that the ICSCC Novice Director Randy Blalock will be confident with. Scott has several instructors he can put you with. A sign off moves you into the direction of getting into the Novice program thats offered by ICSCC.

The Novice program is several races long. I believe it is three minimum.
You will be on track in race situations with other Novices . At this time the
Novice Director along with several Senior drivers will observe you on track. They will be making sure you are watching the flaggers, and following the Directors instructions. Once you pass these requirements you move into Area driver status and will be running with experienced drivers, but will still be under observation.

As Bryan mentioned you can actually rent a race car just for the purpose
of getting through the Novice program. Several shops offer cars for this.

ICSCC is probably one of the least expensive wheel to wheel racing groups in the Country. Also their license is accepted by just about all of the amateur road racing series in the US.

The hole the money goes in varies by class, and car choice . If you really want to throw money away run in a Pro Series Smile . I know people who run in Conference on a very low budget.

Here is the main ICSCC link.

As far as what kind I'm talking ICSCC and or Chumpcar / 24 hours of lemons. All of these are on the low doller side of road racing and you can do them on the cheep. If you want to rent a car Scott Adare has rental cars and an arive and drive program set up for ICSCC. If you are taking the school and think that you might some day go racing do make sure that you get one of us that instructors that has a ICSCC lic. so that your options are open for moving that way if you want to.

For the where ICSCC runs at PIR, PR, SCR, MI, and ORP. Chumpcar Runs PIR and SCR this year as well. 24 hours of lemond closest race is Thunder hill race way in CA. we will be running that in May.

Money for ICSCC can run the gamit from a few hundred to as much as you can spend so that a hard one but Chump and Lemons is most of the time around $1000 per driver if you are joining in a team that is up and running.

I hope that helps.
